This book is intended for the young generations of French families who had to leave Algeria after its independence in 1962. Its presentation in the form of questions and answers makes it easy and practical to read. However, this is not a children's book, as certain passages, particularly some accounts reported by witnesses of dramatic events, could offend their sensibilities. It will, however, help their parents to answer the main questions that might be asked of them and thus contribute to doing justice to a community and a page of history that are too often ignored, misunderstood, and decried.
