Le papillon ensablé. Roman
May 28, 1977, Hossegor: Maïsée, a young woman who has been psychologically fragile since her Algerian childhood, disappears mysteriously, leaving her sister Hélène and her husband Adrien, a former adventurer, in deep distress. One on the island of Noirmoutier, the other in the highlands of Hérault, they lock themselves in the past and regrets.
In November 2007, Rachid the Algerian appears, leading them to a ghost village at the foot of the Mountain that sings where, for thirty years, another life has unfolded, populated by baroque characters: Karima, the murderess, Majdala, the proud Berber, Ali, the innocent, Baba Antoine, the fundamentalist, Qura, the voice of the Mountain, and others still.
A novel crossed by unacknowledged and difficult loves, where "every day is a victory".
