Les enfants de la Licorne
In the Herault of the 1970s, an ancestral home hiding a secret is sold at auction to a mysterious Brazilian woman. The dispossessed family settles in the village. Each of its members reacts in their own way. Some are bruised, or even devastated; others rebel. Still others glimpse a liberation from the yoke of tradition.
The most combative is Tiane, a 15-year-old adolescent who, to recover the estate, dreams of riding the Unicorn from her grandmother's tales and slaying the Brazilian woman, in whom she sees the reincarnation of the Buzzard, a reference to Simon de Montfort, the mortal enemy of her ancestors.
But unexpected bonds are forged between the protagonists, which will upset their destinies.
A novel where childhood, love, death, history, and legends unfold on sovereign land.
And where reality and fantasy become indistinguishable...
