Oran 1961-1962. Journal d’un prêtre en Algérie
Father Michel de Laparre de Saint Sernin was sent by the Church of France as a parish priest to Oran in 1961, at the end of the French presence in Algeria. He arrived in a city under siege, where the FLN, ALN, OAS, the French Army, the CRS, the Mobile Guards, the ATO (Auxiliaires Temporels Occasionnels), and the barbouzes were locked in a deadly struggle. From July 5, 1961, to August 19, 1962, he recorded his observations and reflections almost day by day.
This authentic testimony holds many surprises for all those who seek to know and understand what really happened during the Algerian War. It shatters the distortions and defamation of certain politically correct historians.
The unpublished text Miseries of the Algerian War by Jean Brune as well as 22 engravings by Jean François Galéa on the horrors of the Algerian War enrich this new edition. These provide us with an idea of the atrocities committed by the FLN against European and Muslim civilians.
